The following information was compiled from Renton Police Department’s incident reports.
A man contacted the police on July 21 after being stabbed by his ex-girlfriend.
He said he stepped outside a bar located on the 200 block of Airport Way to smoke a cigar, when he heard his ex-girlfriend yelling at him. He turned around and saw she was holding a knife. She was reportedly yelling at him about money when she raised the knife and ran toward him. He put his right arm up to block himself, and was stabbed on top of his hand. He ran inside the bar to find help.
The suspect left the scene on in a gray Hyundai sedan and headed towards the Highlands. Officers were able to locate the vehicle and stopped the suspect.
She was placed under arrest and transported to King County Jail.
A patient with a bite: Police were dispatched to Valley Medical Center on July 20 to reports about a patient who bit an employee.
When the reporting officer arrived on scene, he said he heard screaming coming from a room.
The female suspect was brought into the hospital two hours prior. Once she had been treated and told by staff that she was being discharged, she starting screaming and thrashing in her bed. A nurse attempted to remove her IV from her arm, but were unsuccessful because the woman kept pulling her arm away. Staff were unable to gain control of her arm because she continued to thrash, punch and kick everyone.
Other staff members entered the room after hearing the screams and helped restrain her, when the suspect lunged forward and bit one staff member’s index finger.
The victim told the officer he wanted to purse charged and provided a written statement.
When the officer talked to the suspect, she said, “They pulled my hair,” and that she wanted her caregiver who was on the fourth floor of the hospital. The officer read her the Miranda Rights, and asked if she understood. She replied, “No,” and continued to scream.
He repeated himself, and she said she did not understand her rights. She said she was a victim of assault since her hair had been pulled. The officer noted there were no signs of an assault or injuries to her head, and that she suffered from an unknown medical/mental condition.
She was transported to King County Jail for third-degree felony assault.
The dog bite: A man contacted the police on July 19 to report he was bitten by a dog.
According to the victim, he was walking down the street when a German Shepherd came from a home, located on the 3000 block of Talbot Road South, bit him, and went back to the house.
Renton Regional Fire Authority treated the victim’s wounds.
The officer reported there were three houses near the address the victim provided. He went to the address the victim first stated, and the woman who answered said they didn’t have a dog and that her son was out getting some food.
The officer then went to the next house, and the resident said they have a small dog. He then went to the third house, when the resident said they didn’t have a dog.
When the officer walked around the area, he noticed a bottle of dog flea and tick shampoo at the first house. He contacted the resident again, and she admitted that her son had a German Shepard.
He told her the dog would have to be quarantined and they would need to provide vaccination records.
The officer called the victim and told him he would need to follow up the case with animal control.
