Renton to mark Arbor Day with tree planting

Renton will celebrate Arbor Day/EarthDay on Saturday, April 28, by planting trees and flowers, clean and spread landscaping bark. Hundreds of volunteers will gather at the Renton Senior Activity Center, 211 Burnett Ave. N., for the activities.

Hundreds of  volunteers will gather at the Renton Senior Activity Center, 211 Burnett Ave. N., for the activities.

To register, contact the Community Services Department at 425-430-6600. Volunteers should dress for the weather.

Minors must have parental permission. Children 14 years and under must be accompanied by an adult/guardian. Check-in begins at 9 a.m. Event is 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Every year Arbor Day is celebrated to promote the planting and care of trees.
