Renton teen gets 1 year sentence in assault on Metro bus driver

A 14-year-old Renton boy was sentenced to a year in juvenile detention Tuesday in an assault early Jan. 23 that left a Metro bus driver unconscious.

A 14-year-old Renton boy was sentenced to a year in juvenile detention Tuesday in an assault early Jan. 23 that left a Metro bus driver unconscious.

The teen, a student at Renton High School at the time of the assault, will receive credit for nearly three months already served and he will be banned from riding a Metro bus until he turns 21.

The incident occurred when the Route 124 bus stopped in Tukwila at South 144th Street and International Boulevard to let off passengers.

The Renton Reporter is not naming the teen because he is a juvenile.
