Renton Technical College culinary arts student Krista Nakamura is piling up honors and accolades.

She was recently selected by the Coos Bay, Ore., National Culinary Team to compete with them at the 2012 Culinary Olympics in Erfurt, Germany.

This comes after winning at the state level and placing second in the individual competition at regionals held in Arizona last April.

Before she goes to Germany, the 19-year-old will travel with the team to Texas for the National American Culinary Federation Conference in July.

Nakamura graduated in June from RTC and will intern this summer at Canlis in Seattle.
