Renton school board member Todd Franceschina resigned his position effective June 28.

Franceschina, who served as the District No. 1 director, purchased a home outside his district and will no longer live in his service area, according to the school district.

The school board will appoint a community member to replace Franceschina’s vacant seat at a later date. His seat is not up for reelection until 2019.

Franceschina has served as a board member since 2011.
