Renton Regional Fire Authority, regional emergency responders conduct rope rescue near Green River

A woman fell from a trail near Green River on Aug. 3.

Renton Regional Fire Authority assisted with a rope rescue on Aug. 3 near Green River.

Around 4:30 p.m., several regional emergency departments responded to an woman who fell approximately 60 feet from a trail above Green River.

According to a Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority, firefighters found a man on the bridge who led them to the victim. The woman was able to talk to the first responders when they called down to her. The first team to rappel to her confirmed she had no life-threatening injuries.

Due to heavy brush and trees growing on the hillside, it took rescue teams approximately one hour to get the patient back up to the trail using a hoisting system .

The woman was transported to a hospital by ambulance.

This is the second rescue at the bridge this month. On Aug. 1, two teenagers and two adults fell from the trail in the same area. All four suffered minor injures and had to brought back to the trail by firefighters using a hoisting system.
