Renton Police looking for suspect in sexual assault in the Highlands

The Renton Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a black male in his early 20s who sexually assaulted a 45-year-old Renton woman on the night of Oct. 3.

The victim told police she was assaulted at about 11:30 p.m. in the 2800 block of Sunset Boulevard Northeast by a man who got into the passenger side of her car. She had just returned to her car from a local business.

She described the suspect as a black male, 20 to 25 years old, medium height, slender build and squinty eyes.

He was wearing a hooded sweatshirt, dark puffy jacket and saggy blue jeans.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call 911 or the Renton Police Department at 425-430-7500.

She told police the suspect made a suggestive remark, then she ordered him from her car. He remained in the car.

The suspect then asked her to drive him to an apartment complex on Harrington Avenue Northeast. She agreed, just so he would get out of the car there.

But, once at the apartment, the man grabbed her sexually and tried to kiss her, according to the police report. She pushed him away, but the assault continued. He punched her in the face, according to police.

She then agreed to “party” with him to get on his “good side,” according to police. But the assault continued.

They continued to drive around drove around, until the man grabbed her purse and ran off.

She waited in some bushes for about two hours, then returned to her car, according to police.
