Renton offers emergency preparedness courses

The Renton Emergency Preparedness Academy returns, where members of the public can learn how to best prepare for emergencies and disasters, including floods, earthquakes and windstorms.

Renton Emergency Management will offer two Emergency Preparedness 101 courses on Tuesday, Jan. 27, and Wednesday, Feb. 11, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m at Renton Technical College. Registration is currently open for the January course at rentonwa.gov/EP101 while signup for the February course is available at rentonwa.gov/EP101Feb.

The city will also offer a “Pet Preparedness” course on Wednesday, March 11. All courses are for adults 18 and up and will be located at 3000 Northeast 4th Street in Renton.
