Renton man critically injured when hit on Duvall Avenue Sunday

Police at 6:22 a.m. Sunday responded to a report of a car vs. pedestrian collision on Northeast Sunset and Duvall Avenue. The vehicle, traveling eastbound on Sunset, turned northbound onto Duvall and struck the pedestrian.

A Renton man was critically injured when he was hit by a car early Sunday morning at Northeast Sunset Boulevard and Duvall Avenue Northeast, according to the Renton Police Department.

Initially, investigators were asking for the public’s help to determine the man’s identity, which has been done.

The driver has been cooperative with police.  It does not appear that drugs, alcohol, or speed are factors in this incident.

The pedestrian was transported to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries; an updated condition report wasn’t immediately available. Anyone with information on this collision is asked to call 425-430-7500 reference case number 15-699.
