The Renton CityNews, the city’s newsletter, has brought home a Blue Pencil Award of Excellence

The 2009 Blue Pencil and Gold Screen Awards competition held by the National Association of Government Communicators recognizes the governments’ best in print, video and multimedia communications.

Renton CityNews is delivered regularly to nearly 45,000 households in Renton and provides timely news and information about the city. The newsletter is mailed every month along with the utility bill to single-family residents, and is also sent as a direct mail to all multi-family residents on a quarterly basis.

“We’re extremely gratified with this recognition from communications professionals from across the country, and with the growing public response to our communications activities,” said Renton Mayor Denis Law.
