The city of Renton is hosting its annual fall shred-a-thon this weekend, designed to give Renton resident an opportunity to protect themselves from identity thieves by shredding sensitive documents.
The event is free.
Residents can bring up to five boxes of paper documents to be destroyed in a shredder on site. Boxes should be approximately 12-to-15 inches wide by 10 inches deep. Documents should be free of paper clips and other metal (staples do not need to be removed).
Plastic items such as credit cards, notebooks and CD’s cannot be accepted. Documents are limited to household papers, and will be shredded on site.
Donations of canned goods will be accepted for the Renton Food Bank. Event will be 9 a.m. – noon at Sam’s Club parking lot, 901 S. Grady Way.
