Renton Police are searching for a suspect in an attempted child abduction that took place Monday in the Kennydale section of the city.

According to police, a 6-year-old male child reported walking in the 3400 block of Meadow Avenue North at about 3:15 p.m. when a man jumped over the sound wall abutting Interstate 405.

The suspect walked over to the child and grabbed his shoulder. When the child yelled, the suspect disappeared over the wall in the same direction he had come from. The child ran towards his house to tell his parents.

The boy’s 9-year-old brother was walking behind him, but was too far back for him to see what happened. He heard his brother scream and ran toward him, but did not spot the suspect.

A police K9 was dispatched to track the suspect but was not able to locate him.

The suspect was described as a white male in his teens, about 6-foot tall, thin build with brown or black hair. He was wearing an orange jacket and orange shorts.
