Police release photo of arson suspect: UPDATE: He’s identified

He is described as a white male in his 20s or 30s, about 5-foot-10-inches tall with medium build.

UPDATE: Renton Police announced Wednesday that the man had been identified.

Police in Renton have released a photo of a suspect wanted in connection with an arson this month at the Renton Wal-Mart.

He is described as a white male in his 20s or 30s, about 5-foot-10-inches tall with medium build. He was wearing olive green pants, a green hooded sweatshirt, a black t-shirt and black soccer-style shoes with white stripes.

According to police, the suspect entered the store at approximately 9:10 p.m. Dec. 3 and went to the sporting goods aisle, where he set hunting jackets on fire.

The jackets were located on a rack directly above shotgun shells. Police do not know if the suspect was attempting to somehow ignite the shells, and it does not appear that the fire was designed as a distraction to commit another crime.

The suspect appears to be on a cell phone as he leaves the store, but is not seen with anyone else.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call Det. Morris with the Renton Police Department at 425-430-7559.
