A Renton parking official on Monday found a body in an abandoned vehicle and police believe the death “may not be natural.”

The body was discovered in an abandoned vehicle parked on the shoulder of Victoria Ave South West, near Renton Avenue South.

A Renton Police Parking Enforcement Officer, investigating a report of an abandoned van, noticed an unusual odor coming from inside the vehicle.  Responding officers discovered the body of an unknown sex/race person inside. Preliminary evidence uncovered in the van indicates the death may not be natural.

Detectives are currently processing the scene to determine the cause of death and the identity of the deceased.
