Someone attempted to break into Go Deli at 306 Williams Ave. S. Sept. 10-11, a few weeks before it opened.

The attempting burglar ripped the lock box off the back door handle, rendering the lock unusable, which is probably why he or she didn’t enter the building.

The owner had replaced the lock before police arrived.
