Fight, car keyed

A man found a car he was borrowing was keyed after having an argument with his girlfriend, according to the Renton Police Department.

Damage to the 2006 red Dodge Charger was estimated at $1,500 to $2,000.

The man was staying in a hotel on the 200 block of Southwest 19th Street under the name of the girlfriend, who he had been dating off and on for eight years.

The two began to argue in the hotel room but moved into the lobby to not disrupt the other guests. An employee witnessed the two argue and then the woman left through the front door.

On a smoking break the employee then saw the woman acting suspiciously near the Charger.

When police talked to her on the phone, she denied the claim saying, “What car?”

There was probable cause to charge the suspect with first-degree malicious mischief.
