Talbot Hill Elementary’s MicroSociety held their student government inauguration for their new president, vice president, House of Representatives and Senate, Tuesday, Jan. 13.
The MicroSociety program is a collection of student-run businesses, banks, a marketplace, newspaper and government, where students become employees and consumers.
Students learn real world applications of their classroom lessons. Every year the student body holds elections and an inauguration for the incoming student government leaders. This year’s president is Avery Petek and the vice president is Cora Supasatit.
Former King County District Court Judge Robert McBeth presided over the inauguration and swore in the new student government leaders, including the MicroSociety House of Representatives and the Senate.
