I-90 ALERT: Snoqualmie Pass closes Tuesday for avalanche control, reopens at 5:30 p.m.

The Washington state Department of Transportation closed Interstate 90 over Snoqualmie Pass for about an hour late Tuesday afternoon for avalanche control at the snowshed.

Chains are required for all vehicles, except those with all-wheel drive.

The pass was closed at 4:30 to eastbound traffic at milepost 47, near Denny Creek, and milepost 56, near Gold Creek. Westbound traffic was stopped at milepost 61 near Price Creek.

It completely reopened by about 5:30 p.m.
