The Wednesday morning commute into downtown Seattle on northbound Interstate 5 was slowed by an overturned semi-trailer at Mercer Street in Seattle, according to the Washington state Department of Transportation.
The traffic backup at about 8:45 a.m. was about six miles. The semi was cleared from the freeway by about 9:10 a.m. and all lanes were reopened.

A tow-truck was on the scene at about 8:30 a.m. to help upright the trailer.
The incident started at about 7:35 a.m. at the height of the morning commute. At one point three lanes of traffic were blocked.
