It’s that time of year when the leaves should be changing colors, warm drinks provide comfort and pumpkins appear on doorsteps and in pies.

The 10th Harvest Festival is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 8,  at the Piazza on Burnett Avenue.

Presented by Piazza Renton, the City of Renton and the Chamber of Commerce, the event features a business expo for the ninth year in a row.

The expo will offer access to about 75 Renton businesses that will have booths in the Renton Pavilion Event Center next to the Piazza.

About 3,000 people attended last year, according to organizers, and a similar number is expected this year.

There will be about 45 arts and crafts, produce, flowers and food vendors. A master gardener will be on hand.

McLendon Hardware is supplying the hay that will decorate the piazza and 300 pumpkins to be handed out free to children at the festival.

A decoration station for the pumpkins will be staffed by Renton High School Key Club students. Renton’s Spotlight Dance troupe will perform at 2:15 p.m. in the piazza.
