A 17-year-old girl was tracked down by a K9 unit after assaulting her mother on Jan. 28.

Police were called earlier in the day to track the girl from a residence in the 19400 block of 107th Avenue Southeast.

At about 5 p.m., police were advised that the girl had returned home and was hiding somewhere locally. Earlier in the day she had assaulted her mother and broken items in the house.

Police located her with a K9 in the backyard standing near the back door.

She compiled with their demands and allowed them to handcuff her. But, she was resistant to being put in the backseat of the patrol car and shouted that she wanted to kill herself.

The teenager had to be forced into the backseat and was arrested for investigation of fourth-degree assault and malicious mischief.

 

Girl sent home, wounds herself

A mother caught her daughter inflicting wounds to herself after being sent home from school for drinking on Jan. 25.

The 15-year-old daughter was brought home by a school resource officer to a residence in northeast Renton.

The mother called police at around 4 p.m. to report that her daughter started to cut herself with scissors.

The mother said her daughter is on probation and has violated the terms of her probation.

Police advised the 33-year-old woman she has the authority to do whatever she needs to help bring her daughter under control.
