FREEWAY WORK: Restriping of I-405 to shift traffic Monday – weather permitting

Drivers will notice a change on Interstate 405 from State Route 167 to State Route 169 in Renton on Monday (Oct. 19).

Crews will restripe the freeway and shift traffic to the right side to create a work zone in the median. Commuters should use caution and pay close attention to signs on the freeway while getting used to the new traffic alignment, according to a Washington state Department of Transportation advisory.

Striping of the road is weather dependent. If it rains heavily, crews will reschedule the work for the next available dry night, according to the advisory.

WEEK OF OCT. 19

Drivers should prepare for late night delays from Tukwila to Bothell on I-405 while crews close lanes and ramps for construction work.

Renton

• Two lanes on southbound I-405 from SR 167 to I-5 with lane closures scheduled nightly at 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. All lanes will be open by 5 a.m.

• Two lanes in each direction on I-405 between SR 167 and SR 169 with lane closures scheduled nightly between the hours of 9 p.m. and midnight. All lanes will be open by 4:30 a.m.

• The on-ramp from northbound SR 167 to northbound I-405 nightly from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. and the off-ramp from northbound I-405 to southbound SR 167 nightly from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.

• The off-ramps from northbound I-405 to both directions of SR 167 nightly between the hours of 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. Both ramps will open by 6 a.m.

• Oct. 19-21: The on-ramp to southbound I-405 from SR 169 from 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

• Oct. 20-22: The on-ramp from southbound SR 167 to southbound I-405 nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

• Oct. 20: The off-ramp from southbound I-405 to each direction of SR 167 from 11 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

• Oct. 22: The off-ramp from northbound I-405 to SR 181 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Bellevue

• Oct. 20: The carpool lane on southbound I-405 from SR 520 to NE Fourth Street from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Crews will close the carpool lane on northbound I-405 from SE Eighth Street to NE 12th Street from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

• Oct. 20: The off-ramp from southbound I-405 to NE Sixth Street and the NE Sixth street on-ramp to northbound I-405 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

• Oct. 22: Two lanes on southbound I-405 from SR 520 to NE Fourth Street with lanes closures scheduled at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. All lanes will be open by 6 a.m.

• Oct. 22: The off-ramp from southbound I-405 to NE Sixth Street from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
