After meetings in Downtown Seattle and Bellevue, the Metropolitan King County Council’s Transportation, Economy and Environment (TrEE) Committee will host its final special night meeting to provide the public an opportunity to comment on the proposed legislation implementing the reduction of Metro Transit bus service on Tuesday, May 20 at the Renton Pavilion Event Center.

Sign-ins begin at 5:30 p.m. and public testimony begins at 6 p.m.

The meeting will be an opportunity for the public to learn more about the implementation plan, speak to Metro staff about the proposed cuts and route changes, and discuss the legislation with committee members before the legislation is sent to the County Council for final action in early June.

The County Executive has sent the County Council legislation on how he proposes to phase in reduction of service hours. The Executive’s ordinance proposes service reductions starting in September, with Metro ultimately eliminating 72 bus routes and reducing or revising another 84 routes over four quarters.
