Filing for November election begins June 6

Filing for the November general election, including for Renton City Council, Renton mayor and the Renton school board, begins on June 6.

On the ballot this year are, with the incumbent and filing fees:

• Renton Mayor Denis Law, $1,311.24

• City Council Position 3, Marcie Palmer, filing fee, $114

• City Council Council Position 4, Greg Taylor, $114

• Council Position 5, open seat with the retirement of King Parker, $114

• Council Position 7, Don Persson, $114

• School board, Director District 1, Todd Franceschina, no filing fee

• School board, Director District 3, Lynn Desmarais, no filing fee

• School board, Director District 4, David Merrill, no filing fee

• Fire District 40 commission, Linda Saturnak, short and full term, no filing fee

• Cedar River Water and Sewer District commission, Position 1, Walt Canter, no filing fee

• Skyway Water and Sewer District, Position 1, Joyce Clark, no filing fee

• Public Hospital District No. 1, Donald O. Jacobson, no filing fee. (Jacobson has announced he will not seek re-election)

The filing period begins Monday, June 6, and ends Friday, June 10, with all filing received before the end of the business day.

Candidates can register in person 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at the King County Elections Office at Boeing Field. Candidates also may file by mail or online.

Candidates who file by mail must due so by June 10. Online filing ends at 4 p.m. on Friday, June 10.
