Dog Will Swim! Pooch Plunge returns this weekend

The Henry Moss Aquatic Center’s annual Pooch Plunge will be Saturday and Sunday, September 10-11.

Summer is over and with that comes the closing of the Henry Moss Aquatic Center for the season — but not before the annual Pooch Plunge.

On September 10-11, Saturday and Sunday, registered dogs will be able to enjoy the lap and wave pools along with the lazy river of the Aquatic Center.

All dogs must be registered for 50-minute sessions at the center and registration is now open. There will be 10 total sessions with the cost being $12 per dog per session, with a maximum of two dogs per registrant. An additional handler would need to register for any additional dogs.

According to the City of Renton website, sign-ups for time slots are separate and that only dogs will be allowed in the water. Time slots run from 9 a.m. to 1:50 p.m.

The last day of the summer season for humans was Sept. 5 Labor Day Monday on and will re-open in 2023.
