The Renton City Council has selected the following elected and committee assignments for 2015:

Councilman Ed Prince was elected Council President for the year and Randy Corman was elected president pro-tem. Prince will conduct the council’s regular meetings, 7 p.m. Mondays and the Committee of the Whole meetings, usually scheduled prior to the regular meeting.

The council finance committee will be chaired this year by Don Persson and will include Councilmen Greg Taylor and Armondo Pavone. The finance committee meets regularly at 5 p.m. on the first and third mondays of each month.

The public safety committee will this year be chaired by Pavone. Persson and Taylor also sit on that committee, which meets regularly at 4:30 p.m. on the first and third Mondays of the month.

Rookie councilmember Ruth Perez will chair the Community Services Committee, which will also include Marcie Palmer and Randy Corman. The community services committee will meet at 5 p.m. on the second and fourth Mondays of the month.

Taylor will chair the utilities committee with Corman and Perez as members. It will meet at 5:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Mondays of the month.

Corman will chair the planning and development committee with Pavone and Palmer. It will meet at 4 p.m. on the second and fourth Monday of the month.

Palmer once again will chair the transportation committee with Perez and Persson. The transportation committee will meet at 10 a.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month.

All committee meetings are subject to change or cancelation.
