City to open Cold Weather Shelter through Sunday

The shelter will be open from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. daily beginning tonight, Thursday, Dec. 31 and running through Sunday, Jan. 3.

With temperatures set to drop into the 20s over the next few nights, the City of Renton has announced plans to open the cold weather shelter in the North Highlands Neighborhood.

The shelter will be open from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. daily beginning tonight, Thursday, Dec. 31 and running through Sunday, Jan. 3.

The shelter provides separate areas for men, women and families and snacks/food will be provided. Drop-ins are welcome and the shelter is safe and confidential. No pets are allowed.

The shelter is located at 3000 N.E. 16th St. Metro bus route 105 stops directly in front.
