Business women to honor leaders at Friday banquet

Renton Business and Professional Women (BPW) is celebrating National Business Woman Week at a luncheon Friday from 11:15 a.m.-1:15 p.m. at the 4th Street Grill, 4004 N.E. Fourth St., Renton.

Renton Business and Professional Women (BPW) is celebrating National Business Woman Week at a luncheon Friday from 11:15 a.m.-1:15 p.m. at the 4th Street Grill, 4004 N.E. Fourth St., Renton.

The group will honor two women at the luncheon: a Woman of the Year and a Woman of Achievement.

Lisa Young is Woman of the Year. She is founder and executive director of HopeChest, a Renton nonprofit that collects household items for distribution to Renton’s needy.

Sen. Margarita Prentice is Woman of Achievement. She is state senator for the 11th Legislative District.

Young and Prentice were chosen because they have made a difference helping women, their community and their workplace, according to the organization.

Friday’s luncheon is open to the public. Lunch is $15 for BPW members and students and $20 for non-members.
