Amid brief sun breaks, families turned out Saturday for a Bike Rodeo hosted by Safe Kids of Seattle, South King and the Renton Community Center.

“We’re just trying to teach kids how to be safe on their bikes and have fun,” said Elizabeth Esselman, with Safe Kids.

The program is lead by Harborview Medical Center and teaches kids bike safety, safe riding in an urban setting, has helmet and safety pad fitting and an obstacle course. Kids also learned how to dodge rocks and signal properly.

Close to 100 families were expected to attend.
