A man pointed a rifle at an employee of the Chevron gas station on Northeast Sunset Boulevard at about 1 a.m. May 3, demanded cash and then followed the fleeing employee out the front door.

The employee was stocking shelves when the suspect walked in, demanding that the employee place money in a plastic bag. The employee asked the man to put down the rifle, then walked toward the register – and ran out the door without giving him any money.

The suspect crossed over Sunset, then ran east. The employee, meanwhile, was yelling for help.

The robber, about 30 years old, was wearing a dark gray hoodie, with the hood up, and black sweat pants.

‘CATCH A BODY’: An agitated 25-year-old Seattle man told a Renton Police officer he’s no snitch but he would “catch a body,” apparently a reference to his homicidal animosity toward the man who stole his $900 cell phone.

The Seattle man was part of a group of about 15 subjects who had been arguing and fighting at about 9 p.m. May 1 at Renton Transit Center downtown.

The man started to leave but then turned around and asked the officer whether he could speak with him. His $900 cell phone, backpack and jacket had been stolen. His hands were scraped and bloodied and he wreaked of alcohol.

His girlfriend agreed to help remove him from the transit center. He got as far as Logan Avenue, where he stopped traffic with his screaming and flailing.

Arrested on an outstanding warrant, he was taken first to Highline Medical Center for a medical checkup. That took about two hours. An X-ray would take another 90 minutes or so. Because of other calls, the officer released him to medical staff.

CELL STOLEN: A 15-year-old Renton boy was hit in the head and his cell phone stolen April 29 while he was waiting for a bus on Union Avenue Northeast.

The suspect, in his teens, hit the victim, who was able to knock the suspect to the ground with his own blow. The victim’s phone fell to the ground, which the suspect picked up; he fled in a waiting white SUV. The victim was treated at Highline Hospital.

The victim’s own research led to photos of the suspect on Instagram, wearing the same clothing as during the robbery.
