Annual Communities in Schools school supply drive underway

Donations are given directly to children in need in the Renton School District through CISR student/family liaison programs.

The annual Communities in Schools of Renton school supply drive is underway now through Aug. 18 to help Renton’s kids get ready to go back to school this fall.

Donations are given directly to children in need in the Renton School District through CISR student/family liaison programs.

Suggested items include:

• two-inch binders and binder dividers

• paper (notebook, graph and drawing)

• composition notebooks

• pencils (no. 2 and mechanical), erasers and sharpeners

• pens (blue, black and especially red)

• markers, highlighters, colored pencils, crayons (24-pack)

• pencil boxes

• scissors

• USB drives

• protractors

• scientific calculators

• glue sticks

• rulers

• backpacks

• gift cards

Donations are being accepted through Aug. 18 at the following locations:

• Renton City Hall lobby, 1055 S. Grady Way

• Whistle Stop Ale House, 809 Fourth St.

• Banner Bank, 54 Rainier Ave. S.

• Haggen, 4300 N.E. Fourth St.

• First Savings Bank NW, 201 Wells Ave. S.
