17-year-old girl hurt in car vs. pedestrian accident Thursday morning

Witnesses stated that a northbound driver in a maroon sedan had drifted onto the right shoulder of the road, striking the girl.

UPDATE: According to an email from the girl’s father, she is in stable condition today, Friday, following the accident.

A 17-year-old girl has potentially life-threatening injuries following a car vs. pedestrian accident Thursday morning on Duvall Avenue Northeast in the Renton Highlands.

The 800 block of Duvall Avenue is presently closed while police investigate.

According to a press release, Police were called to the incident at 11:46 a.m. Thursday. Witnesses stated that a northbound driver in a maroon sedan had drifted onto the right shoulder of the road, striking a 17-year-old girl who was walking northbound in the 800 block of Duvall Avenue Northeast.

The victim was transported from the scene with potentially life-threatening injuries.

The suspect driver initially continued northbound, but returned to the scene a few minutes later and is being interviewed by Detectives.
