A 13-year-old boy walking to school Monday morning was hit while in a crosswalk in the 1200 block of Duvall Avenue Northeast, according to the Renton Police Department.

The accident occurred at about 7 a.m. near Hazen High School. The boy suffered a broken arm and three broken ribs and was expected to be released from the hospital today (Tuesday). He is expected to make a full recovery.

The truck was driven by a 68-year-old man. The accident is being investigated by the department’s traffic unit. There is no indication at this time that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the accident, according to police.
