Liberty grad Tim Lincecum to start Game 1 of the World Series | Baseball

Liberty graduate Tim Lincecum will start Game 1 of the World Series tonight for the San Francisco Giants.

Lincecum went 16-10 with a 3.43 ERA and a league-leading 231 strikeouts. Despite the strong all-around numbers, Lincecum regressed slightly from his 2009 form when his ERA was nearly a run lower at 2.48.

He’s been dominant again in the postseason with a 1.93 ERA and two wins. He’s struck out 30 batters in 23 and a third innings.

Lincecum and the Giants face Cliff Lee and the Texas Rangers in Game 1 of the World Series tonight at 4:57. The game is available on Fox.
