Renton’s ‘clinic of the future’ now open!

5 things you’ll love about PacMed Renton

Patients and staff who pass through the doors of the new Pacific Medical Centers (PacMed) Renton clinic will find a bright, state-of-the-art medical environment. Officially opening today, the clinic at 1801 Lind Ave SW, Bldg D delivers a design and resources that support this multi-specialty practice.

“We’re super excited. This was a long time coming for us. We’re happy to finally be able to share this improved experience with our patients,” says Mary Ann Braganza, Practice Manager at PacMed Renton.

5 things you’ll love about PacMed Renton

  1. Single floor access to all services: No more trips in the elevator to meet your primary or specialty care doctor and then get an X-ray or lab work: everything patients need is on the same floor. Ease of access is critically important for patients as they navigate their health needs. Physicians and staff also benefit from the new clinic’s layout. “I’m looking forward to easier collaboration with my fellow providers and staff. Having everyone on one well-designed floor is going to dramatically improve the ways we’re able to care for our patients,” says Dr. Shailaja Reddy, Medical Director and an internal medicine physician at PacMed Renton.
  2. Self check-in kiosks: For patients in a hurry, the kiosks are a time-saver. “No lines, no stress,” says Braganza. They also support pandemic safety by encouraging social distancing and reducing one-on-one interactions — plus they self-clean using bacteria-killing UV light! “Our staff will be on hand to help patients use the new kiosks. Of course, the reception desk is also available for in-person check-ins and other support,” says Braganza.
  3. Negative pressure rooms: These specially ventilated rooms at the new Renton clinic help isolate airborne particles, increasing safety for patients and staff. “It’s the ideal place to take care of patients with communicable diseases such as COVID-19, measles or tuberculosis,” Dr. Reddy says. “When staff and physicians started the design process, we wanted to respond to current healthcare needs and also what we see on the horizon. Having negative pressure rooms makes this a clinic for the future.”
  4. Less traffic, more amenities: The new clinic is just a few minutes away from the old location but is significantly more accessible. Drivers will appreciate less traffic and calmer conditions at 1801 Lind Ave SW, Bldg D. Staff and those who visit the clinic regularly are also looking forward to the many amenities within walking distance: restaurants, a courtyard for mental wellness and respite, a childcare facility, a gym, spaces for flex work and more.
  5. Added space, services: The exam rooms at the new clinic were thoughtfully planned to meet the space needs for a variety of care. Patients will feel more relaxed and at home in the spacious rooms designed specifically for patient care. There are also twice as many outpatient procedure rooms in the new facility, so doctors can more easily perform procedures such as sports medicine joint injections or skin treatments. The new location boasts an expanded cardiovascular lab, an expanded gym in the sports medicine clinic and extra treatment chairs in the lab.

“Mary Ann and all of the staff have been working tirelessly for the last several months and we’re so excited to finally start serving our patients. It may take a bit of patience to get used to the new location, but soon, we’ll all feel at home,” Dr. Reddy says.

PacMed Renton opens April 11 at 10 a.m. at its new location: 1801 Lind Ave SW, Bldg D.
