The Renton American Legion Fred Hancock Post 19: This organization meets the second Tuesday of every month, except July and August, at 7 p.m. at the Post Hall (3224 NE 12th St.) in the Renton Highlands under the water tower. It wouldn’t be Christmas without the Nutcracker Ballet! Friday night’s performance will be at 7 p.m., Saturday’s one-hour family-friendly performance will be at 1:30 p.m. which will be followed by a full-length performance later at 7 p.m. The final Sunday performance will be at 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $44 for adults ages 19-59, $19 for children and students age 18 and under and $34 for military and for seniors age 60 and up. Renton Parkrun at Cedar River Trail: This weekly 5K community event takes place every Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Cedar River Trail trailhead by the I-405 overpass. This free event does require registration but is meant to be a fun event where walkers, joggers, runners, volunteers and spectators can come together.
