Traveling exhibit coming to Renton in 2020

Smithsonian traveling exhibit tour announced

Humanities Washington announced June 21 that the Renton History Museum among eight other Washington locations will host the Smithsonian Exhibit “Hometown Teams: How Sports Shape America.”

The exhibit will tour Washington from March 2019 through May 2020 — making a stop in Renton from April 16 to May 28, 2020.

The exhibit examines how sports are not only a vehicle for exercise and competition but are also a reflection of our nation’s values and characters, a release stated.

Renton and the other locations were chosen based on the idea of reaching diverse communities, the release added.
