A trading card game tournament kicks off this weekend in the city.

Renton will host the first round of the Pokémon City Tournaments starting this Saturday, Nov. 26 at DJs Sportscards.

This trading card game tournament is free to play and is open to players of all ages.

Players will try to earn championship points that could earn them an invitation to future Pokémon tournaments this season, including the 2012 Pokémon World Championships in Hawaii next August.

The tournament begins at noon at the retail shop at 1630 Duvall Avenue Northeast in Renton.

It is an officially sanctioned event put on by The Pokémon Company International in the 2011-2012 Play! Pokémon Series.
