Brittney Henry of Puyallup was crowned Miss Washington last weekend at Lindbergh High School.

First runner-up was Nicole Erhardt, Miss Tahoma. Second runner-up was Kara Jo Morris, Miss Lewis County. Third runner-up was Genay Tucker, Miss Spokane. Fourth runner-up was Daniela Ferrell, Miss Auburn.

Henry will represent the state in January at the Miss America 2012 pageant in Las Vegas. She is an administrative assistant. She won $12,000 in scholarships, including for winning the title, plus winning for her talent and her gown.

This is the first year the pageant has been held at Lindbergh. Previously, it was at the Highline Performing Arts Center in Burien.

Peggy Miller, the pageant’s executive director, said the event “went well” at Lindbergh, although there’s no air conditioning in Lindbergh’s performing arts center.

She said the pageant will return to Renton next year, although whether it will be held at Lindbergh isn’t yet known.

Local Renton car dealer Brad Brotherton is the prime sponsor.
