Gamers everywhere marked International TableTop Day this past Saturday with events all around the area and the world.

Renton’s own Lone Shark Games hosted events around the region, including a stop at Top Pot Doughnuts in The Landing.

The idea behind the event is to head to a local game store, community center, or host an event at home and, simply, “play more games.”

According to the event’s official website, International TableTop Day is a reminder to spend more time and strengthen the bonds with the people who matter most by playing games together.

Tabletop gaming promotes many positive social and cognitive benefits like increased communication, team work, planning, and is an excellent stress relieving activity for all ages.

More than 3,000 events in 60 countries, including every U.S. state, took place to mark the day and a hashtag for the day spent 18 hours trending on Twitter.

Lone Shark Games is a Renton-based gaming company that designs games and events, including the annual Renton River Days Duck Hunt.
