Renton Fire, Seattle Fire and Valley Regional Fire Authority sent Firefighters that successfully passed the Rescue Diver evaluation to their initial certification class “Dive Rescue One” to become qualified as a Rescue Diver.
This was a three-day class that involved a significant amount of time in both the Hazen Pool and Lake Washington. Once the divers complete the class they will still have over a years’ worth of training prior to becoming certified to work on an actual call as a Rescue Diver.
The divers were trained in different search methods, black water diving, extricating from entaglent, scene preservation, victim removal and rescue just to name a few.
