Gloria Jean Gamba
June 3, 1945 – July 12, 2014
Gloria was born in Seattle, Washington to parents Bjarne and Gladys Bergesen. She grew up in the Burien area and graduated from Glacier High School. On September 10, 1966 she married the love of her life, Anthony Gamba, and soon after settled down in a home in Renton, where they have lived the past four decades together.
Gloria loved spending time with family and friends, and found joy in hosting many gatherings and cooking exceptional meals for those she cared about. When she wasn’t entertaining, she enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino to play the slots or to the shopping mall to pick up a new pair of heels, as Gloria was always dressed to the nines.
She worked for the Rainier Brewery from 1965 to 1986, followed by short stints with the Seattle Police Officers Guild and Stroh’s Brewery. In 1992, she became employed with the City of Renton and spent the second half of her career there until retiring in 2010.
Gloria leaves behind an adoring family that includes her husband Anthony, her sons Marc and Steven, daughter-in-law Angela, grandchildren Abigail and Anthony, and brother Bergy Bergesen. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Marian Puariea.
Please join us for a Celebration of Life service on Tuesday, July 29th from 4-7PM at the Renton Community Center, 1715 SE Maple Valley Highway, Renton, WA.
