Carmen Rivera winning race for city council seat against opponent Ben Johnson

With 29.31% of the 17,662 registered voters being counted thus far, Carmen Rivera is leading the race for Renton City Council Position No. 2 against her opponent Ben Johnson.

Rivera has earned 51.69% (8,599 votes) of the vote while Johnson follows relatively closely behind at 47.97% (7,981 votes) of the vote.

The election results are officially certified on Nov. 23.
