Liberty High student to be recognized at Seahawks game

A liberty High School sophomore has been named the CenturyLink Athlete of the Week.

The Seattle Seahawks, CenturyLink, Inc.and Q13 FOX on Friday announced Nate Solly of Liberty High School as the week 10 CenturyLink High School Athlete of the Week.

Solly will be recognized at CenturyLink Field during the Nov. 17 game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Solly, a sophomore at Liberty, was selected Athlete of the Week based on his dedication to academics, community involvement, leadership and athletic performance.

Solly is a three sport athlete in football, basketball and track. He is an honor student and holds a 3.88 GPA. Nate volunteered with his football team at Vision House in Renton, in addition to serving breakfast to the homeless mothers at Mary’s Place with his basketball team.

His leadership and grades earned him the Jack Reynolds award in Middle School where his teachers referred to him as “Altruistic and dedicated to himself and his teammates and classmates both on and off the field, on the court and in the classroom. His drive and determination is something you can’t teach. You either have it or you don’t and he has it.”

As the CenturyLink High School Athlete of the Week, Nate will also be recognized at his school in front of his family, peers and teachers. He will also receive a $1,000 grant from CenturyLink and the Seahawks for his school’s Associated Student Bodies (ASB) fund, in addition to media recognition, tickets and sideline passes to a Seahawks game, and a customized 2013 Seahawks jersey.

Over the course of the 2013 fall sports season, 10 student-athletes were selected as CenturyLink High School Athletes of the Week.
