Renton chamber honors businesses, non-profit, volunteer for excellence

The Renton Chamber of Commerce Thursday night recognized four businesses, a non-profit that makes birthday dreams come true and a long-time city volunteer for excellence.

Don Jacobson

Jacobson was recognized for decades of service to the Renton community, including as a School Board member, a hospital district commissioner, a Renton Rotarian, a Chamber of Commerce board member, among many others.

Speaking on a video, Rich Roodman, Valley Medical Center’s CEO, recognized Jacobson for his leadership in health care, which he said is Jacobson’s legacy.

“I hope I was able to help in a few places,” Jacobson said to a standing ovation at the Renton Pavilion Event Center.

The dinner was catered by Rain City Catering.
