Liberty tops Mercer Island in KingCo tourney | Baseball

The Liberty baseball team beat Mercer Island 7-2 in the KingCo 3A tournament Tuesday.

The Patriots (7-13) play Mount Si Thursday at 7 p.m. at Bannerwood Park.

Liberty did most of the damage early, scoring six runs in the bottom of the first inning. Ben Wessel earned the win, pitching five innings and striking out six.
