Renton’s Jalen Markey making an impact for US National, Sounders FC Academy teams

Renton’s Jalen Markey scored a goal for the U18 U.S. Men’s National team against Ventura County Fusion March 31.

Markey, 17, attends O’Dea High School and plays for the Sounders FC Academy U16 team. The defender was named to the U.S. team’s 35-man roster and spent a week at the team’s national camp in Carson, Calif.

The U.S. team was trailing 3-1 when Markey headed in a corner kick in the 69th minute against the Fusion. The U.S. lost 3-2.
