Hazen finishes 12th at Decatur invite; Mercer Island takes out Liberty | Roundup

The Hazen wrestling team took 12th place at the Decatur Robert “Hurricane” Harris Memorial Tournament Saturday.

Austin Clark took second place at 132 pounds. He won a tough, overtime match in the finals to advance. Josh Kluth (120 pounds) and Daniel Karpman (138) each took fifth.

Basketball

The Liberty boys basketball team lost to Mercer Island 68-44 Monday night.

The Patriots (2-3 overall, 1-2 KingCo 3A/2A) led 18-17 after the first quarter, but fell behind by six at the half and 20 after three quarters.

Tynan Gilmore scored 17 to lead Liberty. B.J. Demps added 10 points.
