Renton, Hazen, Lindbergh all cruise to wins | Football roundup

Renton’s Anthony Gold had another big day as the Indians shot past Thunder Mountain (Alaska) in a 42-6 win Friday night.

Renton improved to 3-2 on the season and sits in second place in the Seamount with a 2-0 league record. The Indians got on the board in the first quarter with a 68-yard touchdown run from Gold. P.J. Mattingly then scored another touchdown on an 80-yard interception return. Thunder Mountain scored once to trail 14-6 at the half.

The third quarter was all about Gold. He rushed for three scores (from 36, 38 and 20 yards), giving him four for the game. Gold has 17 touchdowns through five games this season.Savion Phillips added a touchdown run for the Indians in the fourth.

Renton takes on Kennedy Catholic Friday at 7 p.m. at home.

Lindbergh

Lindbergh shut out Highline 45-0 for a homecoming win Friday night.

The Eagles (3-2, 2-1) led 14-0 after one quarter and 24-0 at the half. Quarterback Matt Stuart led the way with four touchdown passes. Stuart connected with Derrick Holt and Daniel Wiitanen for two touchdowns each. Cam Callen scored two touchdowns. Holt added a 30-yard field goal.

Hazen

Hazen bounced back from two straight losses to beat Evergreen 41-19 Friday night.

The Highlanders (3-2, 1-2) built a 21-0 lead at the half and never looked back. Hazen led 34-0 before the Wolverines got on the board.

Kyle Nelson connected with J.D. Peterson and Dominic Orsillo for touchdowns. Frankie Johnson, Cody Taylor and Tray Brown each had rushing scores. Cody Moorhead returned an interception 70 yards for a touchdown.
