David H. Flora
David H. Flora, born in Roswell, NM in September 1926, left this earth on Sunday, February 27,2011. He attended Colorado A&M University between stints in the US Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He married his “Lovebird” Lucy Anne, and together they raised 2 sons. He joined the United States Public Health Service in 1960 as a commissioned officer, attained a master’s degree from Pitt University, and retired in 1977. He co-founded Flora Springs Nursery in 1980 and retired for the second time in 1996. He is survived by his bride of 60 years, Lucy Anne, 2 sons William and Thomas, 2 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 99 Wells Ave. S., Renton, WA (425)255-3323, at 2:00 pm on Saturday afternoon, March 5. Donations may be made to St. Luke’s memorial fund.
